Murder in the Mansion FAQ

Write a scene where Inspector Prodwell questions the character YOU create. The scene should be 1000 words or less.

The scene should include:

• where the scene takes place
• your character’s (hopefully relevant) backstory
• your character’s relationship to the victim
• a likely (inventive) murder weapon to which you have access
• a motive (which you’ll deny, let slip, try to downplay, or whatever you choose)

THE RULES:

Rule #1: Keep Detective Prodwell's active role in your scene minimal: simple, short, straightforward questions. All your color should go into your suspect's character and their story. They are the focus.

Rule #2: Please stick to the 1k word count (less is fine). A wee overspill can be forgiven, but spiraling tomes will not be included in the final vote and compilation.

Post your entry on Substack by the due date (August 31st), tagging me, so I can see/collect them all to create the culprit vote and the final post with everyone’s scenes included as a complete story that reveals the murderer.
